The Flower Studio Roars for Walt Disney
The party consisted of 600 guests experiencing exotic flora, fabulous food from Pascal's Catering, and entertainment provided by the Broadway cast of The Lion King. Guests were greeted by an ice sculpture made by Amazing Ice and amazing it was. The ice was carved into a lion head and The Flowers Studios' elaborate collection of exotic foliages created its' mane. The feeling of the jungle was evident by the large displays of bamboo, mosses, and African grasses
. The enriched taffeta linens covering the serpentine buffet tables were enhanced by large floral displays of anthiriums, birds of paradise, cascading orchids, roses, and ginger to name a few. Each buffet arrangement was created on site to fit specific space requirements. Each was uniquely different and depicted the ambiance of the exotic jungle. The entire Flower Studio staff was onsite for the unfolding of this dramatic and lavish event. It took 3 cargo vans, 12 people, and over 2000 stems of exotic flowers and foliages to complete the final vision.
Coby Neal, Creative Director of The Flower Studio said, "It was an exhilarating experience to work with Disney and bring this incredible project to fruition with such amazing success."
Allison Gilbert, Director of Marketing for Broadway Across America and Representative for Walt Disney wrote, "I wanted to thank you again for a wonderful event on June 5 for Lion King. Our Lion King Representative was extremely pleased with your beautiful arrangements. Thanks so much and I enjoyed working with you."
Scott A. Hemerling, Press Representative for the Lion King Tour, also stated," Many thanks again for the amazing floral displays you created for our Group Sales Event on Monday. We held strategy meetings with various media reps on Tuesday and Wednesday, and many of them commented on the extraordinary flowers. It would be great if you or your photographer could send me a CD of the images he captured Monday afternoon. I would appreciate having these for my files to show future cities examples of what can be done and how to make our event look fabulous."
And fabulous it was. Photographer L. Andrew Sterling of Sterling Images photographed the event. His artistic eye captured the mood and the dimensions of the event which took place in the large foyer of the prestigious Bass Concert Hall perfectly.
Most of the guests in attendance were intrigued by the presence of exotic flora and creativity used to capture The Lion King theme for the evening.
Coby Neal said, "This is the kind of opportunity that allows for professional planning, creativity and a talented staff to bring it all together, something of which The Flower Studio is known for. It also requires the knowledge of bringing together a group of vendors that are reliable and flexible enough to work together towards completing the clients' vision." It was an evening well done by all.
