Selecting the right flowers for your wedding day can add drama and personal style, creating an experience for you and your guests that will be remembered for years to come. The Flower Studio takes great pride in being the floral professionals that take the time to learn about you and the mood you want to create. Six to eight months prior to your wedding date is not too early to begin your selection process. Our calendar begins to fill up quickly, so securing the date is a great idea.
There are a few things to keep in mind prior to meeting with us. The florist is usually not the first thing that a bride books. It is important to make some key decisions before you start thinking about selecting your flowers. Your wedding date, ceremony and reception locations, bridal gown and bridesmaids’ dresses, and expected guest count should all be pretty well finalized before your initial consultation. We encourage brides to come prepared. The color of the dresses and gown dictate what flowers and what shades will go best. Bring in fabric swatches or pictures of the selected wedding party apparel and be ready to talk about what you like, the ambiance you want to create, and the style or feel that you envision. Will you be getting married outside during the day or evening? Will the reception be a plated dinner or a buffet? How many bridesmaids are you having? How many mothers, fathers, ushers, extended family members and friends would you like to recognize with boutonnières and corsages? These are the types of questions that you will be asked when you meet with our floral professionals.
With this information in hand, we can suggest the right floral combinations that suite your personality. We can also hone in on the areas that are most important for floral décor and we can provide you with our expertise on how and where to make the right floral statements that compliment your wedding.
Your floral budget is another big one. This is quite possibly one of the most difficult things to nail down. Most brides have no idea what to expect as far as their floral budget goes. A good indicator is how many bridesmaids, body flowers, ceremony arrangements and guest table arrangements you plan to have. Twelve bridesmaids and 20 guest tables, for instance, can really eat up a floral budget. It is a good idea to have some sort of budget and expectations for your budget in mind. If we have a general idea of what you’re comfortable with spending, then we can suggest the right flowers and décor to fit your budget to the best of our abilities. We can then paint the proper picture for you and suggest things that fit within your budget.
We will provide you with an itemized statement at the end of your consultation which you are then encouraged to take home and think about. This initial consultation is the perfect opportunity to ask as many questions as possible and we would encourage you to include every area that you want to incorporate floral décor. An itemized statement is not set in stone. If you had your heart set on pew markers or an ice sculpture arrangement, then let us give you the information you need to decide whether or not it’s an expense you want to spare. We offer the initial consultation free of charge, so it’s best to take advantage of our expertise the first go round. Any bride that books with us is given two more meetings, on site or off, and our undivided attention when needed.
Once you have decided that you want us to be your florist, you can rest easy that your wedding flowers are being handled by the best. We will take care of details like set up, delivery, and pick up times. We will order the highest quality flowers from around the world, handle any additions or changes, pick the perfect shade of ribbon to match your bridesmaids dresses and much, much, more.
We have a passion for producing unique and specialized floral décor. We want your guests to be amazed. We want you to be amazed. Every wedding we touch is given all of our attention and we delight in going above and beyond for each and every bride.
